ASK AUNT MARY-CHEATING
August 24th, 2011 | By admin
School has either started or is about to start, and this is a good time to talk about cheating. Most people in the world today think it’s okay to cheat a little. They cheat on their Income Tax, Congress cheats on us by passing a mass of bills in one bill and they think we won’t notice. Is that right? I don’t think so, it is being dishonest.
Most kids in school cheat sometime or another. They peek a look at someone’s test paper and see the answer they have is not like the other person’s. They change their answer and guess what, they had the right answer to begin with. I’ve seen that happen before.
When you cheat, who is cheated? You are! In school you’re cheated because you didn’t know the answer. If you are speeding down the highway in your car, you may be cheating your parents of their child. You could be killed. If you are cheating in the workplace, you are cheating all of us. We have to pay for what you stole. That’s not fair. In a business, the customer pays for the thief’s of others.
Why do people cheat? It makes them look good. It makes them popular. It makes them look like they are something they are not. It gets easier as time goes on, so they cheat more. Finally it will catch up with them. They they won’t look good, and they won’t be popular. They will be seen exactly as they are. A cheat!
Judas Iscariot was a cheat and a thief. In John 12:3-6 the story is told of Mary using very expensive oil or fragrance to wash Jesus’ feet. Judas asked why was it not sold and the money give to the poor. In verse 6 it says, “This he said, not because he cared for the poor, but because he was a thief, and had the money box, and he used to take what was put in it.” Judas was such a sinful person. Not only did he steal, he sold Jesus for thirty pieces of silver. He committed suicide and did not have to face his shame. He can be a lesson for us not to cheat or steal.
Whatever you do in life, do honestly. Take your own responsibility for what you do. Matthew 16:26 says, “For what is a man profited if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? or what will a man give in exchange for his soul.”
If you want to make an A on a science test, do it honestly. Study and take responsibility for your answers. Be a good example for other students in your class.

Very interesting; thank you for sharing!
Cheating, I feel is one of the most painful experience is any relationship/marriage. The unfaithfulness of the partner is really hard on the person who is being cheated. What is more important I feel is that it is really essential to know what was the reason for the cheating. Also one needs to self evaluate to see for personal issues if any. Thanks, Victoria.
