FROM THE WAIST UP

You may think there’s not much to talk about From The Waist Up, but let me assure you there is. There are several things we want to look at, from the waist up. We’ll be looking at hair, make-up, and clothes, from the waist up. In 1 Corinthians 6:20, we are told to glorify God in our body. In the previous verse, the Bible talks about our body being the temple of God.
Let’s start at the waist. Females need to remain modest at all times. How many times have you bought a shirt and when you got home, you decided it was too short? Most of us have. A good rule of thumb is to try it on. That’s why there are dressing rooms in stores. Raise your arms. Does it show your belly? If it does in the dressing room, it will at home.
Maybe you have a larger waist and a roll, like some of us do, then buy a fuller top with detail under your bust. That will make the eye move from that roll, and make people think you have a smaller waist. I watch What Not To Wear.
Now, let’s move up to the chest. While you’re in the dressing room, bend down. Can you see cleavage? If you do, and you really love that top, get a high camy. You can also buy the fake camy’s. They hook onto your bra straps and they really work. They are great in the summer.
Jewelry is beautiful, but you can over do it. You can wear ten pieces of jewelry at one time. Count your rings, watch, bracelet, earrings, and pins. If the number is over ten, take some off. Each bracelet counts as one. It is not honoring your body when you dress so people will look at what you wear instead of what you are. Everyone should represent themselves as clean and pure Christians.
It seems to be popular today for girls to wear black. Black lipstick, black eyeshadow, and black fingernail polish. When I see someone with all the black on, I think they are so unhappy and rebellious. How do you want people to see you? Children of God should be happy and hopeful. We have remission of our sins and hope of Heaven. Think how you want people to think of you?
Keep your hair clean. It is so easy to keep our hair clean. Have a style that is becoming to you.
Girls, think about what you are wearing. Are you presentable to God? What is the first impression that you give to people. Let’s all honor God by wearing clothes that don’t show too much.

What happened to dressing to portray a woman who is intelligent, modest, confident, spiritual–or even cute? I don’t *want* to be sexy when I am out running errands, at work, or visiting with friends and family. I don’t want men to have any excuse to look at me in that way–except for my husband of course!
