Sorry, I missed yesterday. As you get older, you find you see more doctors. Well, that’s where I was yesterday, but I’m back today.

Most girls have their ideal mate, or their “dream guy” in their head. They know what that guy has to be like. I remember those days. I had pictures of Hollywood movie stars all over my walls. My mother hated them, but they were my “dream guys.” Of course, that was back in the 50′s when we had really cute dream guys, or at least I think so compared to what I see today. At least their pants covered their backsides.

Flattops were the style, and my guy would have the flattest there was. He would be tall, handsome with the cutest smile. He would be popular with all the girls, but he would pick me. Little shy me. Oh, how I dreamed for that guy.  (more…)

GOOD GIRLS OF THE BIBLE- WIDOW OF ZARAPHATH

We do not know this woman’s name, but in 1 Kings 17:9-16, we learn a lot about her. She was caring, and although a Gentile, she knew something about God.

Let me paraphrase the story. The Lord told Elijah to go to the city of Zaraphath in Sidon, He told Elijah that there was a woman there, a widow, who would provide for him. When he came to the gates of the city, a woman was gathering sticks. Elijah asked her for water. (more…)

Models in magazines look so perfect, but how do we know how many of the pictures have been touched up to make them look perfect. Everyone has flaws, even the movie stars, singers, and models. They all have some little flaw.

When I was a teen, many years ago, I remember how we all wanted to be perfect. Well, I wasn’t. I was so skinny my bones stuck out. I do wish I were that skinny again, but alas, having three children helped me to gain weight. Of course, liking good food hasn’t helped any. (more…)
