IS THE BIBLE TRUE?

Today there is a lot of discussion about whether the Bible is true or not. Even leaders in some religious groups do not believe everything in the Bible. They believe in the “grace” of God. Not in what God teaches. Believe it or not, but not everyone will go to heaven. Also, there really is a hell and a devil named Satan. He still wants your soul, so he goes about it by trying to get you to believe the Bible is not true. Before modern men knew about science, even before science was invented, the Bible teaches science. Let’s look at a few things.

Remember back in the 1400′s when Columbus said the world was round. Everyone else thought it was square and ships fell off the face of the earth. They probably based that on the knowledge that ships did not return every time they sailed out. Therefore, they fell off the earth. They didn’t consider the fact that there were storms, or that the sailors found land and didn’t want to leave. Columbus, on the other hand, believed the world was round. Did you know it states that in Isaiah 40:22? Even back before Christ was born, Isaiah knew the world was round because God told him. This is what the prophet Isaiah says in that verse, It is He who sits above the circle of the earth, And its inhabitants are like grasshoppers, Who stretches out the heavens like a curtain, And spreads them out like a tent to dwell in. Did you get the first sentence? God sits above “the circle of the earth.” Could Christopher Columbus have read that verse? We don’t know, but he was right since we can see the circle of the earth from pictures taken from space.

Those square thinking scientists were pretty wrong back in that day. They even made fun of Columbus’ beliefs. Wonder how they felt when he came back from the New World?

While we are talking about sailing, did you know David talked about the “paths of the seas”? In Psalm 8:8 David wrote this, The birds of the air, And the fish of the sea That pass through the paths of the seas. This was found to be correct by Matthew Maury, in “Pathway of a the Seas.” Today ships use those pathways.

In Job 38:16 we read about “springs of the sea.”  Have you entered the springs of the sea?
Or have you walked in search of the depths? That is unimaginable isn’t it? Freshwater springs in the seas? Well there are freshwater springs in the sea. One in in Florida and another in Hawaii. There are probably others, but these springs put fresh water in the ocean, and you can drink it. God put it there. It didn’t just happen. God also told us about it. We have to read and study His Word to believe it.

It is hard to believe that people, intelligent people, would misrepresent God’s Word in such a way to cause people to believe something that isn’t there. We need to guard our souls, and what we believe will either send us to heaven or hell. What do you believe?

THE WONDERS OF GOD

Each time I fly across America, I see the wonders of God. Yesterday my husband and I flew from Nashville, Tennessee to Lubbock, Texas. It’s amazing how much of the country you can see for 34,000 feet in the air. It has always amazed me to see the color of the earth from the sky.

The clouds covered most of the sky, but even the clouds showed the wonder of God. I don’t know how people can think all of this world happened by chance. It was spoken by God, Genesis, chapter 1. God said the earth and the atmosphere into being. To see the tops of the clouds is amazing. We only see the bottoms of them from earth, but from a plane, we see the tops. They are beautiful. (more…)

NEWTON’S MODEL

August 19th, 2011 | By admin

Today our young people are being bombarded with several different ideas as to how the earth and even humans beings came about. If you doubt this statement to be true just take a look at the science books that are being used in our public schools. I would like to share an article taken from theFredericktown Church of Christ newspaper article called:

Newton’s Model

“The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God” (Ps. 14:1).

Recently I read something of interest about Sir Isaac Newton (a world-renowned scientist and philosopher who lived from 1642 to 1747).  Newton(who was perhaps best known for his universal gravitation theory and his discovering of the three laws of motion) once had an exact replica of our solar system made in miniature.  At its center was a large golden ball representing the sun, and revolving around it were small spheres attached at the ends of rods of varying lengths representing Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, and the other planets.  These were all geared together by cogs and belts to make them move around the “sun” in perfect harmony.  (more…)
