ASK AUNT MARY- GETTING SEXY

June 20th, 2012 | By admin

There’s a commercial on HGTV about when summer comes, the clothes come off, and everyone gets sexy. Is that what everyone thinks? Well, I don’t, and a lot of other people don’t. That is what people are trying to make girls think. What is so important about getting sexy and parading up and down the streets with very little clothes on? We’ve talked about this before, and it does increase a man’s desire for sex.

Every time I go to a wedding I’m appalled at how many young women come with less and less clothes on. They seem to want to outdo the bride. Maybe I’m old fashioned, and some of you will say I am, but it’s the only place I can go outside of a honky-tonk that I see so much skin. It’s even spilling over to church services. Girls, don’t go along with the crowd. Cover yourself up.

Mothers, why do you let your daughters go out like this? You do have some control over them. You still can tell them this is not appropriate. You still can say no. Why are you letting your daughters display their bodies in this way? Are we forgetting what modesty is all about? It’s not for older women, it is also for younger girls and teenagers. 1 Timothy 2:9-10 says, “In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array; 10 But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.”  (more…)

PROVERBS 1:10

In 1980, Ronald Reagan was campaigning for president of the US. Mrs. Reagan needed a platform for the work she would do, and she saw a lot of young people on drugs while she was campaigning with her husband. One you lady asked her what she should do if someone offered her drugs. Mrs. Reagan’s reply was, “Just say no.” That became her platform, and it became a slogan over the whole country. No to drugs.

In Proverbs 1:10, we have a similar statement. “My son, if sinners entice you, do not consent.” That does pretty much explain itself. If someone offers you drugs, alcohol, sex, or anything you know is wrong, say no! That’s hard to do with peer pressure what it is today in high school and college. It’s easy to be enticed into sin. You look so cool with that cigarette, or the beer, or the pot, or whatever. Well, you don’t look cool at all.

When you take a drink of beer, you are setting yourself up for an addiction. The same is with drugs. It is not cool. Really, it’s stupid. Some of the things you do when you are under the influence can endanger your life and others. Things can happen that will change your life forever. You could be in a car wreck and killed, or someone else could be killed or mangled for life.

If you are enticed to have sex with someone, you could get a disease or become pregnant. Then you have another life to think about. Aborting the baby is murder. So many women today feel the guilt from abortion. Then there is the disease. You do not want to be faced with that kind of a life.

Let me be honest with you. You will be laughed at, ridiculed, and ignored by some people. They are not the cool people. They are not your friends. Someone who comments the above sins, like to have company with like people. They want to drag you down to their world. They want to pull you through the mud of sins. Don’t do it! Just say no!

No one every gets drunk by not drinking, or no one every gets high on drugs by not using. It’s easier to keep yourself pure when you don’t do these things.
